THATHA :The Sindhi Shagird Tahreek has arranged an educational conference under the slogan of Save Sindh, Save Education at Press Cub Hall, to pay tribute to Shaheed Ashique junejo on his 23rd martyrdom anniversary.
The students passed resolutions, asking for a medical university in Thatta, they asked government to allot land to Sindh University Thatta campus and demanded to abolish Pakistan Medical College (PMC) and restore Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
The students also asked to build up libraries,science laboratories and computer labs in all educational institutions.
On the occasion, new district body of senior science teachers ( SST) was elected. Mr Mujahid Baloch was elected as President, Abdullah Chandio as vice president, Majeed khushk general secretary, Parvaiz Palijo as joint secratory, Zahid Chang as treasurer, Nazir khushk press secratary and Abdul ghani was elected as office secretary .
Addresing the ceremany , Ghulam Ali Zaur,, central secretary of Sindhi Shagird Tahreek said Shaheed Ashique Juneji was killed by agents of anti education and anti-democratic entities at the main campus of university of Sindh. Shaheed Ashique Junejo sacrificed his life for education, we salute his struggle.
New elected president of SST Thatta, Mujahid Baloch said that in Thatta district local youth was being ignored in jobs of major national and multi national compaies working in district.
Mitha Khan Lashari central treasurer of Awami Tahreek said that SST has struggled against klashankov mafia at Universities.
Kashif Mallah central student leader of SST said that lands of Thatha district are being alloted to Afghanis and other non citizens but it isn’t alloted to Sindh univesity Thatta campus.
Sarwaich Sindhi said that students need to be united against anti-education entities.
