ISLAMABAD: And here is the second petrol bomb for the people in a month who are already moaning under unbearable burden of the historic price- hike as the government okayed yet another big increase in the prices of petroleum products on Thursday.
The Finance Division issued a formal notification for the new rates of the petroleum products here . The new rates of the petroleum products came into effect from mid night on September 30, 2021.
The Finance Division had sought approval of prime minister, Imran Khan, before going for the second big increase in the rates of the petroleum products within a month. The government had revised the petroleum products prices on September 15, 2021 as these prices are being adjusted twice a month on a fortnightly basis.
According to the notification of the Finance Division,
light diesel price went up by Rs 8.82 to take the new price to Rs 99.51 per liter. Similarly,
Petrol price has been increased by Rs 4 to take the new price to Rs 127.30 a liter.
Kerosene oil price jumped up by Rs 7.05 per liter to push up its rates to 99.31 per liter. High speed diesel rates have been increased by Rs 2 to take its price to Rs 122.04 per liter.
The new increase will have devastating affect on the people whose majority is already feeling it very difficult to meet their day to day expense.
