Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti lauds Darul Sehat Hospital , Medical College as source of pride

Karachi – A pre-conference workshop inauguration ceremony of IMECON 2026 was held in Karachi, where Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti addressed students, faculty members, and distinguished participants, highlighting the centrality of service, unity, and compassion in medical education and national development. Among those present were Senators Samina Mumtaz Zehri and Sarmad Ali, Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Professor Khalid Masood Gondal (President, CPSP), along with the CPSP Council, Member of the National Assembly Farhan Chishti, principals of medical colleges across Pakistan, as well as other MNAs and MPAs.

In his remarks, Senator Chishti acknowledged Federal Minister Mr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Professor Khalid Masood Gondal (President, CPSP), noting their long-standing association with education and their continued inspiration. He particularly appreciated Professor Gondal’s emphasis on teamwork and inclusive leadership, stating that such collaboration has consistently strengthened institutions, faculty, and academic outcomes.

Referring to the broader discourse on medical education and academic reforms, Senator Chishti briefly highlighted the contributions of Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri, Chairperson, Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights. He added that Senator Zehri is actively working on legislative initiatives aimed at improving faculty development and teacher training, with a focus on strengthening the quality of education and professional capacity within medical institutions.

Sharing his personal journey, Senator Chishti stated that although he comes from a business-oriented family, his commitment to healthcare and education has remained unwavering. He emphasized that Darul Sehat Hospital and its Medical College represent a source of immense pride and satisfaction for him, describing the institution as their most meaningful contribution. He noted that the platform enables sustained charitable work and community service, and expressed gratitude for the steady progress and recognition the college has achieved.

Concluding his address on an emotional and reflective note, Senator Chishti shared a lesson imparted by his mother, stating that true contentment lies in being genuinely happy for others. He urged students and professionals to foster empathy, humility, and mutual respect, emphasizing that human beings thrive through shared learning and collective well-being. He stressed that Pakistan holds immense potential and can only progress if its people work together in unity, adding that citizens can attain true dignity and first-class status within their own country. He called upon all stakeholders to contribute jointly towards national development, reaffirming that a strong and prosperous Pakistan depends on collective effort and social harmony.
