This picture of the mammoth crowd in Timergarg, the capitol of Lower Dir, of ordinary citizens made my eyes caught in disbelief once I opened my WhatsApp this morning Saturday on 18th February 2023, at 7 am. .

One of the placards demands ” We Want Our DC Back”, asking for the suspension of transfer of their Deputy Commissioner, Honourable Zubair Khan from Lower Dir to Bajauar, is what makes this civil servant the real master of the hearts of those he served.

I never met Zubair except that his amiable, hospitable and humble nature won my heart once I travelled in the recent past with my School Fellow Honourable Sadiq Akbar and his friend Fazal E Shakoor, Assistant Collector Customs, from lower Dir to attend the funeral prayers of the beloved mother of our common friend Honourable Karam Elahi, Collector of Customs in Lal Quila Lower Dir. It was then Zubair Khan was considerate enough to impress upon us time and again to break our long journey with him which we could not due to paucity of time, yet he showed his concern to comfort us on our long drive that was indeed not a happy experience rather a sad occasion to share grief of a friend.

It is people like Zubair, who serves as pride of the country, the civil service and society, who together can make Pakistan progress and prosper, as opposed to those whose appointment on the key positions mostly serve as a recipe of disaster both for the country, society and their own service structure.

It was only yesterday that a family friend from D. I Khan informed me of a huge violent crowd in the evening who blamed Gen. Bajwa for their economic destruction that serve as such an embarrassment to both the country and institution he served for having failed winning the people’s goodwill as opposed to the favour of the very few. .

These public sentiments of the ordinary citizens on the streets is what decides the fate of the nation who are sadly leaderless and direction less, but then whenever they find one odd like Zubair Khan that they refuse to part with.I am sure Capt. Zubair’s father, family and children would be proud of him to have proven himself as a true leader in the society through his deeds than words.

My very best to this young civil servant that the people needs as the country have many to rule her people but hardly a very few to serve either her or her citizens that today makes Zubair so loved and wanted by the ordinary people on the street of lower Dir, the once home of the famous movement for Nafaza Shariah, founded by Sufi Muhammad that itself remains self – explanatory of the level of political awareness amongst the people of Dir. Long Live Pakistan In Search Of True Pakistanis To Sustain Her . 🇵🇰
