ISLAMABAD. The federal ministers have been assigned portfolios and it was follow d by summoning ofthe maiden meeting of his cabinet here on Wednesday. Prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, will preside over the federal cabinet.
The ministers who took charge of their ministries included Maryam Aurangzeb Information, Tariq Bashir Cheema Food Security, Rana Sana Ullah Interior, Sheri Rehman Climate Change, Syed Navid Qamar Commerce , Ahsin Iqbal Planning and Development , Shahzain Bughti, Anti Norcotics, Azam Nazir Tarar Law Division, JUI,’s Mufti Abdul Shakoor Religious Affairs , Miftah Ismael Finance, Ayaz Sadiq Economic Division and Hina Rabani Khar Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, a 34-member cabinet of prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, sworn in on Tuesday here at Awan e Sadar. Since, president, Dr Arif Alvi, had refused to take oath, Senate chairman, Sadiq Sanjrani, administrated the oath of the federal cabinet. Prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif witnessed the oath taking ceremony.
With sworn in of the federal cabinet, the impression of differences among stakeholders of the new government over federal cabinet formation have perished. Since, Shahbaz Sharif’s cabinet was delaying for a couple of days there was an impression in the political arena of the country that the stakeholders of new government were having serious differences over power sharing formula.
The new cabinet members who took oath included Rana Tanvir Hussain, Syed Navid Qamar,Sheri Rehman,Syed Amin ul Haq, Syed Faisal Subwari, Mohammad Israr Tareen, Nawabzada Shahzan Bughti, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Rana Sanaullah, Maryam Aurangzeb, Azam Nazir Tarar, Asad Mahmood, Ahsin Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Mian Javed Latif, Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Shazia Mari, Ihsan ur Rehman Mizari, Ayaz Sadiq, Muttaza Javed Abbasi, Murtaza Mahmood, Syed Khurshid Shah, Sajid Hussain Tori, Abdul Wasay, Abdul Qadir Petal,Mufit Abdul Shakoor, Abid Hussain Bhaio, Talha Mahmood , Kahawaja Asif,
The Ssate ministers who were sworn included Aisha Ghaus Pasha, Hina Rabbai Khar and Abdul Rehman Kanjo.
Three advisors who will be notified with a status of the state minister were Mifta Ismael, Qamar Zaman Kahira, Engr Amir Muqam
The new cabinet members will be given portfolios sometimes today (Tuesday).
