KARACHI, December 4, 2024: Former President of Pakistan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Arif Alvi was granted protective bail by the Sindh High Court on Wednesday.
Alvi faces charges in three separate cases registered in Mianwali, Taxila, and Rawalpindi, under terrorism and other serious charges.
In a separate legal matter, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to challenge the terrorism charges filed against him in connection with the PTI protest at D-Chowk.

Gandapur, through his lawyer Haji Ajmal Khan Mohmand, requested the removal of terrorism charges from the case, arguing that the protestors had exercised their constitutional right to peaceful assembly.
The case against Gandapur was registered at the Secretariat Police Station in Islamabad on November 26, following the PTI protest.
His lawyer has urged the IHC to suspend the FIR and the terrorism charges until the court makes a final decision.
