ISLAMABAD: Minutes after Wednesday’s blast in parking area of Sarena Hotel in Quetta, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Mr Nong Rong, got a message from Beijing that he should simply ignore the incident and continue to carry on his scheduled meetings in the provincial capital of Baluchistan.
The Chinese ambassador , Mr Nong Rong was staying with his delegation at Sarena Hotel in Quetta when a powerful bomb blast occured in its parking that claimed 5 lives, besides injuring 12 others. The injured included very senior government officials like assistant commissioner Jaffarabad and assistant commissioner Revenue Quetta.
Diplomatic sources told NEWSMAN on Thursday that Mr Nong Rong stayed in Quetta despite the bomb explusion and held series of scheduled meetings there and he was still in the provincial metropolitan to complete his important assignments.
Bomb blast at Sarena Hotel’s parking area during Chinese ambassador Mr Nong Rong’s visit has left many questions for Pakistan’s security apparatus . Those responsible need to check how a bomber reached to the parking area of Sarena Hotel when Chinese ambassador was staying there. Another question arisis as to why a foolproof security check was not made at parking of the 5- star hotel when senior officials were havoring around probably to make arrangements for safe stay of Chinese ambassador and his team.
Hitting the target by terrorists at a five star hotel in Quetta leaves many glaring questions unanswered.
Thanks to Beijing that understood the situation on ground and asked its ambassador to stay in Quetta despite the blast. The Chinese ambassador’s stay in Quetta after the blast has a clear message for those who managed the blast that Beijing was not dettered by such cowerdly acts and it will stay with Pakistan come what may.
