RAWALPINDI: Six terrorists were killed during a clash with security forces in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said a military statement on Sunday.
Six other terrorists were also injured in the operation, which was carried out based on intelligence tips, in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, near the Afghanistan border, the statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said.
ISPR confirmed that the operation took place on November 9.
“Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the killed terrorists,” it read.
The ISPR also stated that a sanitization operation was conducted in the area, and reaffirmed that security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism from the country.
Increasing Terrorism in Pakistan
Pakistan, particularly its Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, has seen a sharp rise in terrorism-related incidents in recent months.

According to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), an Islamabad-based think tank, Pakistan has recorded 785 terrorist attacks in the first 10 months of 2024.
