ISLAMABAD : Jan 20,2023: In an apparent bid to block return of Pakistan Teheek e Insaf (PTI) in parliament , speaker national assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf , has accepted resignations of another lot of its 35 members of the national assembly .
The PTI members whose resignations were accepted by the speaker national assembly on Friday included Amir Kayani, Fakhar Imqam, Shair Akbar Khan, Karamat Khokhar, Fayyaz Ul Hasan, Ali Khan Jadoon, Junaid Akbar, Tahir Akbar, Khusro Bukhtiar , Aurangzeb Khan, Mujahid Ali, Khurrum Shahzad, Sajid Khan, Iqbal Khan, Usman Turkai, Abdul Majid Khan, Umar Aslam Khan, Andleeb Abbasi, Malika Bukhari, Shahid Mahmood , Asma Qadeer, Munawara Bibi, Shaukat Ali, Arbab Amir Ayub,
Amjad Ali Khan, Shair Ali, Gul Dad Khan, Hur Hussain Qureshi , Ibrahim Khan and Faizullah .
Its second lot of 35 PTI MNAs whose resignations have been accepted today.
Earlier, the speaker National Assembly had accepted the first batch of 35 PTI MNAs on January 17,2023.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) de-notified the second lot of PTI MNAs within hours after acceptance of the resignations by the speaker .
With denotification of 70 MNAs , PTI is in hot soup . The entire exercise from accepting the resignations of PTI MNA s to their denotification is meant to block PTI return to the parliament to grab the post of the opposition leader and become a player in the process to be initiated for appointment of the caretaker prime minister to hold general elections in Pakistan sometimes in September – October this year.
PTI senior leaders including Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar , Fawad Chaudhary and a few others spoke to the media outside the parliament . They called the speaker ‘s action of accepting resignations of PTI MNAs in lots as an unconstitutional . They claimed that the government was hiding to avoid public in the upcomig general elections .
