Suicide blast , gunfire at FC headquarters in Peshawar: Several casualties, security on high alert

Peshawar – A powerful explosion was heard at the main gate of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar’s Saddar area, followed moments later by intense gunfire, sparking panic across the city.Security forces immediately cordoned off the area, placing the entire vicinity on high alert as additional police and FC forces rushed to the scene.

According to official reports, the blast occurred at the entrance of the FC Headquarters in Cantt.Police contingents, including elite commandos, swiftly arrived, while CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed personally led the operation.Authorities stated that the nature of the explosion was initially unclear, but preliminary information later confirmed it was a suicide attack.The attacker detonated himself at the main gate, after which several militants infiltrated the FC premises.

The ensuing exchange of fire reverberated across the area, heightening fear among residents.Security forces engaged the militants in a fierce gunfight, during which two attackers were killed. Subsequent updates revealed that three militants were eventually neutralized.

Medical officials at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) confirmed that five injured persons were shifted there, including two FC officials and several civilians.Hospital authorities reported that all injured were in stable condition, and emergency measures had been enforced across the facility.

 

Tragically, three FC personnel were martyred in the suicide explosion and the ensuing exchange of fire.A total of four people, including security officials, were injured.

Funeral prayers for the martyred FC personnel were offered with full honors. Senior officials and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi attended the ceremony to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers.

The security across Peshawar has been intensified as investigations into the attack continue.
