Suicide bomber strikes in Islamabad , leaves 2 including a cope dead, 6 others injured

ISLAMABAD: Dec 23, 2022: A suicide bomber struck in I-10 sector in Islamabad on Friday morning, killing two persons including a policeman, besides injuring half a dozen others. The injured also included the police cops whose exact number is still unknown. The injured were rushed to a local hospital for medical treatment.
According to the initial police reports, the police chased a private taxi whose driver had run away with taxi from the check post in the area bearing registration number of Lahore .The driver and two other persons including a women were riding in the taxi. The suicide bomber, who probably was approaching to his some other high profile target, blew him up when the police party intercepted the taxi in I-10 sector of Islamabad.

 

The site of the suicide bombing is close to an industrial sector and there is no any important office or building close to the site of the suicide bombing. The Islamabad police’s vigilance foiled an attempt of the suicide bomber and its planners to cause more loss to lives and properties in Islamabad.

The security personnel rushed to the bombing site . They cordoned the bombing site.

Interior minister, Rana Sanaullah, appreciated the timely action and vigilance of the Islamabad police which he said checked the suicide bomber and foiled his attempt to reach to his target.
He said the Islamabad police gave a great sacrifice for protection and security of Pakistan and its people.

Monster of suicide bombing had returned to Islamabad after a hiatus of around one decade. The security agencies are on the site of Friday’s suicide bombing but some intelligence reports were being shared by security agencies with relevant departments for the last two weeks which said the banned terrorist organization –Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—was planning to carry out terror attack in the federal capital.
