ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s National Intelligence Fusion & Threat Assessment Centre (NIFTAC), operating under the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), has issued a “Most Immediate” threat alert warning of a possible wave of suicide bombings and coordinated terror attacks in Peshawar and surrounding areas.

According to the classified communication marked “Secret” and circulated to key law enforcement and security agencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intelligence agencies have identified a potential suicide bomber, Hafiz Badri, a Wazir tribesman, who was reportedly dispatched two weeks ago from Tani Maidan, Khost into North Waziristan. His movement, the alert states, was facilitated by elements of the so-called KGB Group operating in Tiraah, Khyber District. Badri is believed to have received two weeks of specialized training prior to his mission.

The warning further highlights the movement of a skin-colored Toyota Corolla Grande carrying four individuals, observed traveling from Dara Adam Khel toward Peshawar. The vehicle is suspected to be part of preparations for a possible assault on a Police or Paramilitary base or for carrying out a suicide bombing on Peshawar’s busy Ring Road. In addition, intelligence suggests that two to three suspected suicide bombers have already reached the Warsak Road area of Peshawar.

The suspicious Corolla was last sighted near Scheme Chowk, heightening fears of an imminent strike. Authorities have been cautioned that high-profile areas and sensitive security installations are under direct threat, including: Sakhi Pull, Nasir Bagh, Regi, Warsak Road, Pishtakhra Chowk, Bara Road, Khyber Road, Ring Road..The alert emphasizes that law enforcement agencies, military movements, and sensitive government installations are potential targets. Security has been instructed to adopt extreme vigilance, tighten checkpoints, and increase surveillance to prevent any “untoward incident.”.

The intelligence note explicitly warns that the document is classified and not to be shared outside of official security and intelligence channels. It was circulated to top security leadership, including the Inspector General of KP Police, Frontier Corps, Frontier Constabulary, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and Special Branch.

Copies were also dispatched to military intelligence wings, Air and Naval intelligence units, and the Ministry of Interior. This development comes at a time when Peshawar has witnessed a resurgence of militant activity in recent months, with law enforcement on high alert amid repeated warnings of possible coordinated terror strikes across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
