Pennsylvania: McDonald’s has cut ties with former US President Donald Trump after he visited the restaurant on October 21, 2024, as part of a campaign event. “We do not endorse candidates for elected office,” the fast-food business explained, emphasizing that it did not arrange Trump’s visit, Quartz reported. “We are golden — we are neither red nor blue,” the firm said, underscoring its neutrality in the presidential contest.
During his visit to the McDonald’s in Feasterville, Trump manned the drive-thru and sold fries as part of a staged event.
Law enforcement had asked for Trump to visit, according to local franchisee Derek Giacomantonio, who said, “As a small, independent business owner, it is important that we proudly open our doors to everyone who visits.”
McDonald’s has extended invitations to other political leaders, such as Tim Walz and Kamala Harris, to visit their restaurants after the visit to show their support for their communities.
