ISLAMAABAD: October 13, 2022: Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister, Azam Khan Swati, has claimed that he was brutally tortured and unclothed after mid night arrest for what he called as naming Bajwa in his tweet.

“I am telling the nation about how they tortured and unclothed me they will face the same”, Azam Khan Swati said in his quick media talk outside the session court in Islamabad.
Azam Khan Swati was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in wee hours of Thursday from his residence in the federal capital . He was produced before the court by FIA team for physical remand for a week.
Mr Swati, who made extremely objectionable and obnoxious tweet after the release of prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif and his son, Hamza Shahbaz, told the reporters outside a session court of Islamabad that he did nothing wrong and neither violated the law and constitution but name a man Bajwa in his tweet and was tortured by agencies for this crime.

Azam Swati is an active leader of PTI and he has been tweeting on very sensitive issues for long including the armed forces. His tweet clearly smells in his mind and expresses his ill-intentions to target Pakistan’s armed forces.
Azam Khan Swati who is a known criminal and blacklisted by the United States for his ffinancial scam with the public at large indicates his character and level of leadership.
Babar Awan advocate who appeared before the session judge Shabbir Bhatti called Azam Khan Swati’s arrest as unlawful and uncalled for. He said the jackals arrested PTI leader Azam Khan Swati for his tweet only.
PTI leaders including Fawad Chaudhary, Shireen Mizari , Malik Amin Aslam condemned arrest and tortured on Azam Khan Swati .

Meanwhile, Taumour Jaghra , Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) minister also demanded release of Azam Khan Swati forthwith.
The First Information Report (FIR) lodged against Azam Swati, cited that the PTI leader intentionally targeted the state institution of the army and its top leader by mentioning his name in the tweet to create a rift among the armed forces. The FIA had sought a weeklong physical remand of the PTI leader to investigate him to check his other tweeter accounts and tweets made by him in recent weeks.

The session judge after hearing the FIA and Azam Khan Swati’s counsels granted his physical remand for two days only. The court ordered to produce the accused on expiry of physical remand by October 15, 2022. The court also ordered medical check before and after the physical remand of Awaz Khan Swati after his claims that he was tortured by the agencies after arrest.
