*Under Attack* !!

As drastic climate changes bring water scarcity, a glimmer of hope emerges – but only when the UN promises money to greedy nations whose insatiable avarice makes them poorer than the abundant resources the Creator has blessed them with. Pakistan is a stark example of such destruction, wrought by none other than its own people.

Today, the country’s reins are in the hands of contractors who have turned everything upside down. With the arrival of IMF funds, one can see nothing but heavy steel, cement, and construction machinery ravaging the roads, all in the name of infrastructure development. The beauty of this twisted wisdom lies in uprooting mature, indigenous trees and replacing them with palm trees, in a misguided attempt to replicate the arid Gulf States’ landscape.

It’s mind-boggling that, with a population of 250 million and millions of state functionaries – both civil and military – this farce continues unabated. I’m convinced that the masterminds behind this destruction have ensured their own safety and security in the Gulf States, where they have lavish homes waiting to be occupied at a moment’s notice. From the President to the lowliest doorman, these leaders have secured their own life jackets, ready to abandon ship and leave the country to sink.

As a child, I grew up under the paranoia of being under attack by foreign enemies of our Islamic country. But now, in the twilight of my years, I realize that it was our own foolish leaders who have destroyed the country, not any foreign threat. How could anyone think of growing palm trees in a country where indigenous plants thrive?

As the Creator unleashes its fury upon the planet, changing rainfall patterns and disrupting the ecosystem, the faithful beg for rain in their places of worship. Meanwhile, their leaders prepare to beg the world for the next handout, enabling them to destroy what little is left of life on earth, turning it into a concrete jungle.

May Allah save Pakistan from its own foolish leadership, who are capable of growing mangoes on the peak of K2, let alone palm trees in their cities.
