Unrest in Capital Forces Pakistan Railways to Cancel Train Services

Lahore (Newsman): In response to protest calls from an influential political party, Pakistan Railways has suspended all train services between Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar, causing panic in the federal capital.

All 25 train reservations for Sunday, November 24 and 25, have been canceled, and traffic from Multan and Faisalabad to Rawalpindi has been stopped immediately.

Temporary booking desks have been setup at closed train stations to provide passengers with instant refunds. These stations have a significant police presence, and entry is severely limited.

Security concerns resulting from the protest in Islamabad, which has blocked both entry and exit with business containers, led to the decision to cease services.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, mobile internet connections have been interrupted. Mobile networks are still operational, however several other nearby cities have experienced partial internet outages.
