KARACHI: Dec 14,2022: The rupee has received another jolt as it dipped down by Rs 2.50 against pound sterling and Rs 1 against euro in interbank at the end of mid day trade in domestic currency market on Wednesday.

Pound sterling is appreciating massively against the rupee. Its value increased by Rs 2.50 in interbank . Pound sterling jumped up to Rs 295 against its value of Rs 292.50. Similarly, euro rates jumped by in interbank by one rupee taking its value to Rs 253.50. Euro had closed at Rs 252.50 in interbank on Wednesday.
US dollar in contrast to pound sterling and Euro remained passive in currency market against the local unit. US dollar slide down by 10 paisa in interbank against the rupee. US dollar pegged at Ra 224.60 in interbank on Wednesday against its previous day of Rs 224.70.. In open market US dollar remained stable at Rs 231.70.
Saudi Riyal also shed slightly and it closed at Rs 63.35. Its last day day value was Rs 63.70 .
UAE dirham value also sliced down to Rs 66 against its last day value of Rs 66.70. It shed 70 paisa against the rupee.
The currency market is volatile due to panic like situation . The rupee is struggling for its stability.
