Vietnam, Pakistan could help each other enhance trade: Nguyen Tien Phong

ISLAMABAD: Vietnam’s Ambassador Nguyen Tien Phong has said that Pakistan and Vietnam have great potential for tourism and trade. Vietnam has increased its exports to 300 billion dollars in the last few years, which Pakistan could benefit from it’s experience. He expressed these views during a meeting with Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, Co-Chairman, Pakistan ASEAN Friendship Association at his embassy here yesterday. He added that Vietnam is earning 100 billion dollars by exporting electronic and mobile parts. “Pakistan is an important country in the region and we have a special interest in promoting investment,” he said. He said that Pakistan and Vietnam are important exporters of textile products and both countries should benefit from each other’s experiences and rather than competing each other.
Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, co-chairman of the Pakistan-ASEAN Friendship Association, said that establishing direct air links between Pakistan and Vietnam would boost tourism and trade between the two countries. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari said that Pakistan is a member of ASEAN Regional Forum while becoming a full dialogue partner of ASEAN would boost trade and investment. Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari added that the two countries would launch joint efforts with the Ambassador of Vietnam to promote trade and investment.
