Who is Lt gen Asim Munir?

RAWALPINDI. Nov 24,2022: Who is new army chief , Lt Gen Asim Munir ?

Lt Gen Asim Munir hails from Dhairi , Hasan Abad , Rawalpindi district .

Asim Munir got his early education from Lal Kurti in Rawalpindi. His father , Syed Sarwar Munir, was a principal of a higher school in Lal Kurti Rawalpindi. Asim Munir was a brilliant student from childhood. He leant Holy Quran by heart in just two years. Syed Sarwar Munir:s family is known as “Haffaz” family. Asim Munir’s two other brothers , Qaim Munir and Hashim Munir are “Hafiz e Quran’ also.

Asim Munir got commission in Frontier Force Regiment after getting training from Army School. He has a track record of a brilliant army officer. He completed many tough operations as army officer. His promotion to top level in Pakistan army shows his capabiluties and professional excellence .

Asim Munir got promotion as a four – star general in 2018. He was appointed as a chief of Pakistan’s premier intelligence agency –Inter Services Intelligence (ISI)– on November 27,2022. Earlier , he had served as a director general military intelligence also

Lt Gen Asim Munir was removed as DG ISI just after 8 months in office . Forner prime minister , Imran Khan , was instrumental in his premature transfer as ISI chief. Later , Lt Gen Asim Munir was appointed as cirps commander Gujranwala in 2019. He had served in Saudi Arabia as a colonel of the army .
