Islamabad : Feb 10, 2024: Till filing of these reports at 11 PM on Saturday, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) has got 76 seats in the house of 265 and its claimant of achieving a single majority party status in the lower house , but still its far away from forming the government in the centre . The number game suggests that there will be a coalition government in the centre . The race for heading the coalition government in the centre is wide open . The Pakistan People Party (PPP) is even in a better position to form the government in the centre if it shakes hands with Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) . PTI is hunting at supporting PPP if it launches its candidate for the slot of the prime minister. In such a case , PPP and PTI can jointly achieve the golden number of 172 required for simple majority as total number of these two parties in the national assembly is 150 plus without reserves and minority seats . A joint government of PPP and PTI can be more stable than PMLN led coalition government san PPP support. PMLN has an olive branch for PPP as it has 10 members in Balochistan . This equation can persuade PPP leadership to prefer alliance with PMLN and get Balochistan government other than Sindh . PPP has already got simple majority with 83 seats to form government in Sindh . If PPP brokers a deal with PMLN and forms government in Balochistan it will give it a big strength politically. How things will unfold and who will form government in the centre next 24 hours are decisive.
