“Will keep speaking truth ,no matter how many time face arrest” : PTI senator Aon Abbas

Islamabad: Senator Aon Abbas Buppi, while addressing the Senate session, detailed his unlawful arrest and the political vendetta behind it here on Saturday.

Mr Ain said he was abducted after being falsely implicated in a baseless case. After his arrest, the Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, issued production orders, following which the police presented him in the house, where the police handed him over to the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Senate.

During his speech, he revealed that two days ago, at 8 AM, police and unknown individuals broke into his house, tied up his staff, and broke into his room where he was with his wife. They dragged him by the collar and took him outside. His 16-year-old son was also subjected to this violence. Later, they covered his face with a black cloth and took him to an undisclosed location, where he was presented before a magistrate under the cover of darkness.

Senator Aon Abbas Buppi asked the magistrate where he was and what charges had been filed against him. The magistrate replied that he was in Yazman and was accused of killing five Chinkara deer.

While addressing the house, Senator Aon Abbas Buppi clarified that this was punishment for his loyalty to his leader, Imran Khan. He said, “I have always been loyal and will remain so until my last breath.” He further stated that just as Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi were jailed in false cases, so were other leaders such as Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ijaz Chaudhry, Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed, and Umar Cheema, all of whom are also victims of political victimization.

He asserted that he would continue to voice for the rights of all innocent prisoners of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). “Every loyalty comes at a price, and I am ready to pay the price for my loyalty. I don’t care how many times I am arrested or what punishments I face. Speaking the truth in this era of oppression is my duty.”

Senator Aon Abbas Buppi termed his arrest as political vengeance and said that false and baseless charges were being leveled against him because he was distributing pamphlets in South Punjab against inflation, which the government found objectionable. “This arrest is essentially an attempt to silence my voice, but I will continue my struggle for truth and justice.”

Senator Aon Abbas Buppi expressed his special gratitude to Chairman of the Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, for issuing his production orders and praised him for taking a principled stance, refusing to preside over the session when production orders for Senator Ijaz Chaudhry were not being implemented. He further said, “My presence here is actually a face-saving measure provided by the government, so you could resume presiding over the house, but the real issue is the dignity of this house.”

He also thanked Leader of the Opposition Senator Shibli Faraz and Senator Ali Zafar for raising their voices in the house. “If they had not spoken up in time, I might have remained anonymous as before. My arrest was only revealed after their intervention.”

Senator Aon Abbas Buppi also expressed his gratitude to Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, the Deputy Chairman of the Senate, and all honorable Senators who raised their voices in his support and showed solidarity with him.

Senator Aon Abbas Buppi announced that he would not participate in further Senate sessions and would request the Chairman of the Senate to cancel his production orders so that he could return to jail and face the music, and judicial proceedings. He said, “If production orders for Senator Ijaz Chaudhry are not being implemented, I would rather go back to jail because this issue is not just about an individual but about the entire house, its dignity, and the sanctity of the legislature.”
