ISLAMABAD : May 9,2023: Within 24 hours since a stern warning of prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, and the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) , the Rangers arrested Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, here on Tuesday.
PTI chairman was arrested by the Rangers in Abdul Qadir Trust corruption case from Islamabad .
PTI chairman was arrested by a heavy contingent of the Rangers who were deployed outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ahead of his appearance for confirmation of his bail. .
Imran Khan had appeared before IHC for confirmation of bail in Tosha Khana and judge threatening case .
As PTI entered in IHC premises for bio metric to confirm his attendance , he was picked by the Rangers .
Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , had taken serious notice of PTI chairman, Imran Khan, s latest harsh accusations against a serving major general who is having a critical position in the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and wanted him of action for labelling unfounded allegations
The Prime minister ‘s warning was followed by ISPR with a gap of a day.
ISPR had issued warning to Imran Khan for hurling what it said ‘Unfounded and mischievous allegations ‘ against serving senior military officer and termed his allegations unacceptable.
Imran Khan had issued a statement a few days ago and named a senior military officer for possible threat to his life .
Soon after arrest of Imran Khan, IHC chief justice took its notice and summoned the attorney general of Pakistan and the government top functionaries to seek from them the cause of Imran Khan’s arrest .
The IHC chief justice in his initial remarks on arrest of Imran Khan ordered to give the reasons and details of the case in which PTI chairman was arrested by the Rangers .
In no time after the arrest of the PTI chairman , the prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , summoned an emergent meeting of the National Security Council (NSC).
Meanwhile , the PTI workers took to the streets in Lahore , Islamabad and other major cities of Pakistan
The police in many cities have arrested a number of PTI workers who blocked traffic to protest against arrest of Imran Khan
