Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – In a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Pakistani ghazal maestro Ghulam Abbas, renowned Pakistani businessman and social figure Aqeel Arain hosted a grand and memorable evening in the coastal city of Jeddah. The event brought together a distinguished gathering of music enthusiasts, social dignitaries, and members of the business community from across the city.
The event, organized as a formal dinner, was hosted under the banner of the Pakistan Business Community in Saudi Arabia. The evening was skillfully moderated by Anjum Iqbal Warraich, while the chief guest of the night was Tamgha-e-Imtiaz recipient Ghulam Abbas himself. The guest of honor was Malik Javed, Vice President of the Pakistan People’s Party in Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at the event, Malik Javed, Chaudhry Zaheer, Abdul Khaliq Lak, and Saima Chaudhry extended warm congratulations to Ghulam Abbas on behalf of the Pakistani community and also congratulated him on his recent Umrah. They expressed heartfelt appreciation for his lifelong contribution to music.
Aqeel Arain, in his keynote address, remarked that ghazal singing is an art that demands deep dedication and relentless practice. “Ghulam Abbas has carved out a niche for himself through sheer hard work. He is a guiding light for the younger generation of vocalists,” Arain said. He further emphasized that the purpose of such events is to honor and celebrate the artists who have devoted decades to enriching the cultural landscape.
In his speech, Ghulam Abbas thanked Aqeel Arain and the organizers for arranging such a wonderful tribute. He said he was overwhelmed by the love and admiration he received in Saudi Arabia and would carry these heartfelt memories with him.
