Colombo ; Sept 15: Bangladesh defeated propelled India in the last super 4 contest of the Asia Cup 2023 here on Friday .Bangladesh set a target of 266 runs for India to win this last game of super 4 . India were all out for 260 in the final 50th over.
India’s opener Shubhan Gill played a memorable game and scored 121 runs for India . He was a big hope for India to keep going in the game till the end and defeat Bangladesh , but he got out in a bid to hit a sixer to Bangladesh ‘s best bowler -Mehdi. His dismissal put team Bangladesh into the next gear . Its bowlers particularly, Mushraful and Mehdi bowled good overs in the end and kept the required run rate high for pushing team India to take the risks and made big hits to have 4s and 6s. For India Alxar made desperate efforts to bag victory for his country , but he too got out in a bid to hit a boundary . He was the last hurdle for Bangladesh to seal victory against India in Asia Cup 2023.
After Alxar ‘s dismissal other tail enders could not keep the required run rate within an achievable limit and finally Bangladesh defeated India in the last over of the match by 6 runs to have a happy end for its people.
