Belarusian President Lukashenko Arrives in Islamabad for Official Visit

Belarusian President Visit to Pakistan Set to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD, November 25, 2024: Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko arrives in Islamabad today for an official visit, which will last until November 27.

During his visit, President Lukashenko is scheduled to hold extensive talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with a focus on enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in trade, industry, and technology.

Several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) are expected to be signed during the visit, further deepening the partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.

Prime Minister Sharif had personally invited President Lukashenko to visit Pakistan, emphasizing the significance of the high-level diplomatic engagement for both countries.

In addition to his meetings with the Prime Minister, President Lukashenko’s visit is seen as a major step in fostering economic growth and exploring new avenues for collaboration between the two nations.

A high-level Belarusian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzenko, arrived in Islamabad ahead of the President’s arrival.

The Belarusian delegation includes ministers from key sectors such as energy, industry, and communications, highlighting the wide-ranging discussions that are expected to take place.

Speaking on the visit, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed Pakistan’s eagerness to strengthen ties with Belarus, saying, “We look forward to the visit of President Lukashenko, which will significantly contribute to furthering our bilateral relations and cooperation across various sectors.”
