Islamabad: “There are thousands of stories about corruption in the Capital Development Authority (CDA), but one unique story has come to light that may surprise even the most skeptical minds. According to details, Inspector Dost Muhammad, an honest officer of the CDA, was assigned to remove encroachments from the Aabpara Market and surrounding areas. When he started his work, the owners of the encroachments, who are known as the Bajauri mafia, confronted him and used abusive language against him and his team. However, Inspector Dost Muhammad remained steadfast and continued his work, and the area was eventually cleared of encroachments. However, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had earlier ordered that all footpaths and roads in Islamabad be cleared of encroachments to facilitate the public. Despite this, the encroachment mafia continued to operate, and the CDA’s enforcement wing was unable to take action against them. The mafia even bribed the CDA officials to ignore their encroachments. The media survey revealed that the cleanup operation was not liked by some people, as one Bajauri revealed that he had been offered a large sum of money to vacate the place. He also admitted that he had rented a room in a government building to store his goods. The authorities should take notice of this and stop commercial activities in government buildings.
The CDA had used various tactics in the past to remove encroachments, but the current operation is an example of how encroachments can be removed with wisdom and courage. The encroachment mafia is now trying to use various tactics to remove Inspector Dost Muhammad from his position, but the authorities should support him and strengthen his team instead of weakening it.” In other words, the text is saying that the Chairman of CDA was contacted to get his opinion or response on a particular matter, but he failed to respond until late at night. The text is encouraging the Chairman or any responsible officer of CDA to provide their stance or response if they wish to do so.
