Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – A vibrant ceremony was held at the Pakistani Embassy in Saudi Arabia to celebrate Pakistan Day, commemorating the historic Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940. The event was attended by senior Saudi officials, foreign ambassadors, military attaches, and a large number of members of the Pakistani community.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Under-Secretary of Riyadh Region Governorate, Dr. Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, as the chief guest. Commander of the Islamic Military Alliance, General (retd) Raheel Sharif also attended the event, alongside ambassadors from various countries and military representatives.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the significance of Pakistan Day. In his address, he reflected on the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the sacrifices made by Muslims during the struggle for independence. “Pakistan is a great nation that emerged within seven years of the Lahore Resolution, and today, it plays a pivotal role in the world while making strides in development,” he said.
Ambassador Farooq also emphasized the deep-rooted and historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that the bilateral relationship between the two countries continues to strengthen, with increasing cooperation in various fields. “The leadership of both nations stands firmly with each other, and the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia is actively contributing to the development of the Kingdom,” he added.
The ceremony featured live performances and musical renditions by a band, which added to the festive atmosphere. Attendees, including members of the Pakistani community and foreign guests, praised the event and expressed their admiration for Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace and security.
The Pakistan Day celebration not only highlighted the rich history and achievements of Pakistan but also showcased the strong bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, reaffirming their commitment to mutual growth and cooperation.
