Riyadh, August 14, 2025 (Rana Azim): The Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh hosted a dignified flag hoisting ceremony to mark the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan. Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Ahmad Farooq (Tamgha-i-Imtiaz), hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem, as the green and crescent banner was raised high.
The ceremony was attended by diplomatic officials of the Embassy, officers of Pakistan’s armed forces, and a large number of members of the Pakistani community residing in the Kingdom.
In his address, Ambassador Ahmad Farooq highlighted that Pakistan, as a sovereign and independent state, continues to play an important role on the global stage. He paid rich tribute to the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of the armed forces of Pakistan, noting that even the nation’s children had laid down their lives in defense of the motherland. He emphasized that the armed forces have always defended the country with bravery, making the entire nation proud.
The ceremony concluded with the cutting of a special Independence Day cake, followed by prayers for the progress, prosperity, and security of Pakistan.
