Jeddah (Saudi Arabia): The Jammu & Kashmir Overseas Community in Saudi Arabia hosted a prestigious dinner in honor of Mirza Muhammad Shafiq Jarral, former President of the Muslim Conference and ex-Minister of the AJK Government. The event saw enthusiastic participation from prominent figures of the Pakistani and Kashmiri business, political, and social circles.
The dinner was hosted by Sardar Muhammad Ashfaq Khan, former Chairman of the Overseas Community and President of the Muslim Conference (Saudi Arabia chapter), while Engineer Muhammad Arif Mughal, the current Chairman of the Community, presided over the event. The evening was gracefully conducted by Raja Shamroz Khan, with recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Muhammad Asif.
Distinguished speakers at the event included former Chairman Chaudhry Khurshid Mattial, Senior Vice Chairman Sardar Waqas Inayat, Chairman of PML-N Saudi Arabia Chaudhry Akram Gujjar, and the current Chairman Engineer Arif Mughal, among others. They extended heartfelt congratulations to Mirza Muhammad Shafiq Jarral on performing Hajj and paid rich tribute to his significant contributions at both regional and national levels.
The speakers emphasized the importance of unity among overseas Kashmiris and expressed the hope that such solidarity will also be mirrored back home in Kashmir and Pakistan to achieve the long-cherished dream of a free Jammu & Kashmir. They strongly condemned the ongoing atrocities in Palestine and Kashmir and praised Pakistan’s military operation “Bunyān al-Marsūs.” The international community was urged to take notice of the human rights violations committed by Israel and India.
In his address, Mirza Muhammad Shafiq Jarral expressed gratitude to all attendees and reaffirmed the Muslim Conference’s long-standing vision of a liberated Jammu & Kashmir becoming part of Pakistan. He highlighted the effective and influential voice of overseas Kashmiris in the global arena and praised their frontline role in the freedom movement.
Host Sardar Muhammad Ashfaq Khan thanked all the guests and reaffirmed:
“We are Pakistanis; Pakistan belongs to us — and God willing, Jammu & Kashmir will soon be free.”
Prominent community figures present at the event included Abdul Latif Abbasi, Chaudhry Azhar Warraich, Raja Sharif Zaman, Jan Gulzar, Shuja Awan, Raja Muhammad Riaz, Mirza Imran Jarral, Habib Yamani, Zahid Mirza, among others.
The event concluded with a special prayer led by Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mohsin Ghori, for the freedom of Palestine and Kashmir, and for the peace, prosperity, and progress of Pakistan — marking the end of a spiritually uplifting gathering.
