Jeddah: Prestigious “Best employee of the year 2024” ceremony honors workers

Awards presented in recognition of Outstanding services by Pakistani workers; Special honors for those sending remittances

Jeddah ; he annual Best Employee of the Year 2024 ceremony, organized by Iskancom, was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The event honored workers who demonstrated exceptional performance in various fields with awards and certificates. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the Pakistani community, including Consul General Khalid Majeed, Trade & Investment Counselor Saadia Khan, Consul Welfare Aqif Iqbal, former Finance Minister and NFC Chairman Chaudhry Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, and a large number of employees.

Addressing the gathering, Chaudhry Ansar Mahmood Advocate, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Gujrat District, emphasized the greatness of Pakistan, urging people to contribute positively rather than criticizing the country. He acknowledged the challenges but stressed that every society faces difficulties. He said, “If every individual focuses on self-improvement, all problems can be resolved. We must hold ourselves accountable, upgrade our skills in line with modern demands, and embrace new technologies to keep pace with the world.”

Chaudhry Shafqat Mahmood, General Manager of Iskancom and President of the Pakistan Investors Forum, highlighted the organization’s annual achievements. He stated that workers who sent the highest remittances through legal channels were given special awards and certificates as a token of patriotism. He also announced that Iskancom provided employment to 110 individuals in 2024 and plans to create job opportunities for 150 more skilled professionals in 2025.

At the event, Imran Younis received the Best Employee Award for the third consecutive year, while for the first time, an Egyptian worker, Ahmed Abu Jabal, was also honored with a special award.

Speaking on the occasion, Zaryab Mahmood, Managing Director of Iskancom, emphasized that the organization conducted a transparent evaluation of employees’ annual performance, ensuring that only those who met the merit criteria received awards. He stated, “Our success lies not only in achieving targets but also in promoting a work culture that fosters hard work, honesty, teamwork, and leadership.”

Pakistani Consul General Khalid Majeed announced that the passport renewal fee would be waived for two Pakistani workers, Aftab Ahmed and Mohsin Ali Butt, who had sent the highest remittances through legal channels. He urged Pakistani investors to strategically plan and leverage opportunities arising from major projects such as Saudi Vision 2030 and the 2034 International Olympics, which could create significant employment prospects for Pakistani professionals.

Other notable speakers included Chaudhry Sharjeel Mukhtar, Managing Director of the Makkah Project, and Waqar Arshad, Admin & IT Project Manager. They praised Iskancom’s accomplishments and contributions to the workforce.

The vibrant ceremony concluded with awards and cash prizes presented to outstanding employees. Special gifts were also given to children Murjan, Abdul Hadi Zaheer, and Essa Saeed. Chaudhry Mukhtar Nabi, founder of Iskancom and Kinari, extended his gratitude to all guests and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the welfare and development of its workforce.
