Babar XI to take on winner of second semi in final

Pakistan won semi final by defeating New Zealand by 7 wickets here at Sydney stadium in Australia today.

New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first . Pakistani bowling squad comprising Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim , Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz did wonderful job with ball and restricted New Zealand to 152 runs in 20 overs . Shaheen Shah Afridi remained top bowler against New Zealand .He got two wickets for 24 runs in allotted four overs. Shadab Khan and Nawaz Khan also did good job with ball.

New Zealand bowling side could not shine in the march against Pakistan. Boult was the only New Zealand bowler to get two wickets in the match.

Pakistan’s opener , Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam , played memorable innings and both scored 50s. Pakistan achieved target of 153 runs in 19.1 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan was declared man of the match for scoring 57 runs in this high voltage match.

Updated at 3.39 pm: With 87 runs in the first 10 overs without any loss , Pakistan gave a martial show of its cricket power against New Zealand here today.

Its opening pair , Mohammad Rzwam and captain Babar Azam , played a great game and got 87 runs in the first 10 overs. Both Pakistani players struck beautiful shots. A large number of Pakistani fans enjoyed play of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Babar Azam scored his in 11th over and he was still on the crease . Babar Azam’s half century helped Pakistan clinch a world record of having stand of three half centuries in T20 matches . Pakistan got 100;runs mark in 11th over of the match.

New Zealand bowlers seemed total helpless against Pakistani opening pair.

Updated at 2.50 pm: New Zealand made 152 runs in 20 overs to set a target of 153 runs for Pakistan in the first semi final being played at Sydney stadium today.

Pakistani bowlers did a good job with the ball and restricted New Zealand to a achievable total . Shaheen Shah remained the most successful bowler by grabbing two big wickets for 27;runs in allocated four overs. Nawaz also got one wicket .

Updated at 2.22 pm:. New Zealand made quick comeback in semi final against Pakistan and its two main batters , Mitchel and Thomson , played a brilliant game to steer their team to 118 for loss of four wickets in 16th over .

Pakistan bowling line did a good job . In particular Shaheen Shah approved his metal and sent two main New Zealand batters to the pavilion.

Updated at 12.42 pm : New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first against Pakistan today at Sydney stadium .

After winning the toss New Zealand captain said his team will give 100 % to win today’s match against Pakistan.

Pakistan captain , Babar Azam , said had we won the toss, his team would have opted to bat first . He added that the toss was not in his hand , adding Pakistan will play with the same team which won the last two matches in the tournament.

As green shirts and black caps get ready to fight for the first semi final of T20 world cup 2022 in Sydney , Pakistan ‘s cricket legend , Shahjd Afridi , has suggested captain Babar Azam to change batting order and play himself at number three.

Meanwhile , the cricket fans have made unprecedented arrangements in major cities and displayed big TV screens to show today’s big semi final against New Zealand .

Like other fans Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers, who on staging sit in in protest for forcing the government to call new general elections in the country , are making arrangements by putting in place big screens on the blocked roads to show semi final match to the public.

Fayyaz Chohan, a PTI leader from Rawalpindi, has fixed up a big screen at Murree road in Rawalpindi where he is leading a sit in cum protest to support Imran Khan’s long march.

Pakistani fans, who are thronging at Sydney cricket stadium, to support their team Pakistan , are motivated and expecting a big win in semi final today.
