DADU (SINDH): October 12, 2022: Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel Laureate, has arrived in Dadu district of Sindh province of Pakistan, to get direct awareness about the damage caused by recent floods in Pakistan.
Malala Yousafzai visited Jadhan and other areas of Jobi of Dadu district of Sindh where the floods have caused huge loss in terms of property and human lives. She was accompanied by provincial Health minister , Azra Palejo, Education minister , Syed Sardar Shah and Shahzad Rai of Zindghi Trust during the visit to Dadu district.
Malala Yousafzai visited some camps where the flood affectees are being sheltered temporarily. She also visited those affected families which are taking shelter on MNV bund.
Talking to the women residing inside shelters in Jadhan , Malala Yousafzai said the floods have eroded properties and other important belongings of millions of people in Pakistan. She patted those women who come across her at the camps and said “ I salute those all who are braving worst circumstances caused by the deadly floods and fighting to survive”.
Malala Yousafzai called upon the international community to act now to help floods survivors of Pakistan
She also expressed concern over damage caused to schools due to floods
Sindh Chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has appreciated Malala Yousafzai’s efforts to get firsthand information about the affectees of the floods and promote their cause.
Education minister of Sindh, Syed Sardar Shah, gave a detailed presentation to Malala Yousafzai in Dadu . The minister told the Nobel Laureate that recent floods have ravaged 12000 in Sindh province and it adversely affected education process to two millions students in the province.
Malala Yousafzai was also given briefing on floods damage by the deputy commissioner Dadu Murtaza Shah.
On behalf Sindh chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Malala Yousafzai was offered a Sindhi Shawl by DC Dadu , Murtaza Shah and SSP Dadu , irfan Samo.
