Islamabad : The national assembly on Wednesday passed controversial 27th amendment in the constitution amid uproar of the opposition .
Speaker ,Ayaz Sadiq , announced the outcome of the voting on 27th amendment in the constitution . He announced that 234 members of the national assembly voted in favour of the provisions introduced in the constitution under 27th amendment and only four members voted against it. The new amendment has created deep divide among the political forces of Pakistan. The opposition remained -up in the arms during the session which okayed 27th amendment in the constitution.
The opposition members remained up in their seats to chant slogans against the government during the session that was followed by walk out of from the house . They torn up the copies of the agenda and tossed them on the speaker to register their protest against the new amendment.
Prime minister Shahbaz Sharif was present in the house during the voting on the new constitutional amendment. He later addressed to the house . Prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, in his address said Pakistan is going through very precarious security situation . He said Islamabad witnessed suicide bombing a day ago, which claimed 12 lives of the innocent Pakistanis . He added that at the same time a group of terrorists tried to target cadets who were on the campus in cadet college in Wana , Waziristan.
Prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif , claimed that Afghan nationals are involved in recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan. He said Taliban government should behave sensiablly
and disowned TTP and other terrorist groups which are using Afghan soil for attacks on Pakistan.
Pakistan People Party (PPP) chief , Balawal Bhutto Zardari , also expressed his views on the floor of the house. He addressed to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and advised
it to play its due role in the parliament instead keep on wailing for the release of its jailed leader.
PTI chairman , Gohar Khan , and Mahmood Khan Achakzai of BAMP had a press conference after boycotting the national assembly proceedings along with other opposition members . Mr Gohar declared that PTI will undo 27th amendment to restore constitution in its present status. Mahmood Khan Achakzai noted that the new amendment in the constitution was unlawful and hence unacceptable. He announced to start countrywide protest against the new constitutional amendment.
