RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing collaboration in various security and defense sectors, a military statement released on Tuesday.
Colonel General Alexander V. Fomin, Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, met with General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
The meeting focused on the regional security environment and topics of mutual interest, including the strengthening of bilateral defense and security cooperation.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the COAS reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing traditional defense ties with Russia, while both parties committed to expanding their collaboration across various security and defense domains.
Colonel General Fomin praised the Pakistan Army’s accomplishments in combating terrorism and emphasized the need for a unified, cooperative approach among the global community to effectively counter extremism.
