Rawalpindi : Pakistan on Sunday defeated Ireland in its last T20 match , but it made no difference in its fate towards Babar X1. Since Pakistan had already been disqualified for Super 8 phase of T20 World Cup ,its team is supposed to return from the US to Pakistan any time now. Pakistan had lost two initial matches of the tournament: First, it lost to US whose team had come to play T20 World Cup for the first time ever . Then Pakistan lost another match against India . These two defeats had set a stage for Pakistan’s exit from the tournament. Pakistan could have get a chance had rains not washed out US -Canada match . Pakistan is suffering defeats after defeats for long . It seems that Pakistani players are not on the same pitch . They are apparently trying to fail each other in key international matches . Pakistan lost badly in one day World Cup last year . Then it suffered humiliating defeat in Asia Cup last year and now it could not even qualify for the second round of T20 World Cup 2024. The team management is not bothering to investigate causes of Pakistan’s team ‘s poor performance for the last two years. It seems that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is only interested in sending team Pakistan to play cricket . It is not bothered about outcome of ICC ‘s tournaments. Even a lay man in this country knows poor captaincy is damaging Pakistan ‘s image in the international cricket . But PCB is yet to determine the cause of failure of Pakistan cricket . Pakistani cricket fans are wailing over Pakistan ‘s poor performance in international cricket and they are demanding removal of Babar Azam as captain of team Pakistan.
