Riyadh : On February 13, 2025, Pakistan International School, English Section, Riyadh, held a grand ceremony to honor its students and teachers for their exceptional achievements at the international level. The event also paid tribute to the late Naeem Akhtar, a beloved teacher, and emphasized the importance of moral values, compassion, and positive thinking in achieving success.
The ceremony was graced by Begum Ayesha Ahmed, wife of the Pakistani Ambassador, His Excellency Ahmed Farooq, as the chief guest. Distinguished attendees included Mr. Fakhar Jafri, Director of Examinations, British Council; Mr. Kamran Asghar, Head of Business Development, British Council; and Mr. Anjum Shahzad, Manager, Account Relationship, British Council. Parents, teachers, and journalists also attended the event, making it a memorable occasion.
The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and its translation, followed by a welcome address by Principal Muhammad Tanveer. In his speech, Mr. Tanveer praised the dedication of students and teachers, attributing the school’s success to their relentless efforts. He also paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Naeem Akhtar, describing him as an exceptional teacher, mentor, and human being whose legacy continues to inspire.
“Success is not limited to good marks alone but also lies in following the principles of good morals, compassion, passion, and generosity,” Mr. Tanveer emphasized, urging students to strive for excellence in all aspects of life.
The highlight of the event was the prize distribution, where students who excelled in IGCSE, AS, and A2 examinations were honored. Muhammad Affan Kashif, Bushra Bint Khalid, Muhammad Abu Bakr Siddique, Ghania Jawad, and Zara Zubair were recognized for securing first positions globally in English and Mathematics. Meanwhile, Saad Ahmed, Muhammad Rayan, Lubaba Abdul Ghaffar, Muhammad Hamdan Jawad, Syed Abdullah Amjad, and Rujal Kabir were celebrated for achieving top positions in Saudi Arabia and the Central Region across various subjects.
The ceremony also featured cultural performances, including a national song by a student of Jamat-e-Hifth and a thought-provoking drama by the Girls Junior Wing, which captivated the audience. A touching video tribute to the late Naeem Akhtar was played, followed by the presentation of a commemorative shield to his family in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the school.
In her address, Begum Ayesha Ahmed commended the students for their achievements and highlighted the pivotal role of parents in their children’s education. She praised the school’s administration for organizing the event and shared an inspiring message: “With positive thinking and positive behavior, we can achieve our goals.”
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields to the chief guests and a soul-stirring rendition of the Pakistani national anthem, leaving attendees with a sense of pride and inspiration.
