ISLAMABAD, October 27, 2024: Kashmir observed ‘Black Day’ today to condemn India’s illegal occupation, as President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued messages of solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Both leaders reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination.
In his statement, President Zardari emphasized that Pakistan would stand firmly alongside its Kashmiri brothers and sisters until the Kashmir dispute is resolved and freedom is achieved.
He urged the international community to put pressure on India to end human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to fulfill UN Security Council resolutions.
Zardari condemned the ongoing atrocities committed by India in the region and reaffirmed Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political backing for the Kashmiri people’s cause.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed these sentiments, highlighting the severe hardships faced by the people of IIOJK over the past 77 years, particularly since August 5, 2019, when India revoked the region’s special status.
He criticized India’s actions as attempts to undermine the disputed status of IIOJK and deny Kashmiris their democratic right to self-determination.
The Prime Minister pledged that Pakistan will continue to offer full moral, diplomatic, and political support to the Kashmiri people.
