ISLAMABAD: The two-day 9th Pakistan-Uzbekistan Intergovernmental Joint Commission meeting will commence tomorrow (Sunday) in Tashkent, focusing on enhancing economic, trade, and commercial relations between the two nations.
Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan will lead the Pakistani delegation at this important event, where previously agreed-upon agreements will also be discussed to expedite their implementation.
The delegation will feature representatives from over 30 sectors, including food, textiles, pharmaceuticals, automotive, electrical, chemicals, and transport and logistics. This diverse participation highlights the strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, will co-chair the meeting from the Uzbek side. Discussions are expected to center on bolstering bilateral cooperation and addressing critical economic challenges.
At the end of the meeting, a package of agreements is anticipated to be signed, further solidifying the partnership between the two countries.

In addition to the Joint Commission meeting, the delegation heads will participate in the Uzbekistan-Pakistan Business Forum, where they will deliver speeches and engage in a “G2B” meeting designed to foster collaboration between government and business sectors.
Minister Jam Kamal Khan’s visit will also include several meetings with key Uzbek ministries and authorities, facilitating dialogue on mutual interests and economic development initiatives.
This high-level engagement underscores a commitment to strengthening economic ties and exploring new avenues for collaboration between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
