PESHAWAR : Feb 13 , 2024 : Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) has nominated Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur for the slot of Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) chief minister. PTI founding chairman , Imran Khan, made nomination of Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur for the post of Chief Minister KPK from Adiala jail where he is completing his 10 –year term for leaking official secret .
Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur had won one seat of the national assembly– NA 44 –and a provincial assembly seat KP –113 from Dera Ismael Khan. He defeated his arch rival and Jamiat e Ulema Islam chief , Maulana Fazalur Rehman , in the national assembly contest in February 8 election.
Sardar Ali Amin Ganadpur is one of the close political aides of Imran Khan and he remained steadfast with his leader– Imran Khan– in hard times. Sardar Ali Amin Ganadapur was also jailed in May 9 case. He was later released on ball in May 9 case by the court. PTI had shortlisted three names for the slot of KPK chief minister . These included Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur , Mushtaq Ghani and Shahram Turkai and its core committee had discussed these names in its meeting held in Peshawar last week. Later, PTI chairman , Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, had announced that the penal approved by the core committee in Peshawar meeting will be presented to founding chairman of the party —Imran Khan.
After nomination for the slot of provincial chief of KPK, Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur will vacate his national assembly seat . A by-election will be held for NA 44 DI Khan once Amin Gandapur vacates this seat.
