Islamabad : March 4,2024 : The Punjab bureaucracy has flouted the maiden orders of chief minister , Maryam Nawaz and replaced locally made quality flour (atta ) with cheap flour made of imported wheat for Ramzan package . Soon after taking responsibility as Punjab Chief minister , Maryam Nawaz , had given clear orders to the district administration of the entire province to provide quality wheat flour made of local wheat to the people of the province with other items of the Ramzan package, but the district administrations in most of the districts are providing flour made of imported cheap and less quality wheat with Ramzan package .
Sources said there are widespread complaints of providing low quality atta made of imported wheat to the people in Ramzan package in different districts of Southern Punjab. Market sources informed NEWSMAN that atta made of imported wheat is cheaper by Rs 500 a bag due to its low quality and it’s delivery with Ramzan package to the people of the Punjab is going to become a mega corruption scandal of newly elected government of Maryam Nawaz in the Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz had undertaken a good initiative to deliver Ramzan package to millions of people of the province at rheir doorsteps for relief during the holy month of Ramzan and assigned task to the commissioners and deputy commissioners to make sure that the people of the Punjab get quality atta made of local wheat in Ramzan package , but the district administrations are using Ramzan package to mint money. Since the Punjab government has already approved budget of Ramzan package and it includes the price of quality flour made of local wheat and changing it with imported low quality flour means corruption of hundreds of billions in the Ramzan package announced by Maryam Nawaz government in the Punjab.
The Punjab government orders dated March 2 ,2024 have clear instructions that Ramzan package will have flour made of local wheat . It also has clear instructions regarding quality of sugar and other items of the Ramzan package . Despite clear instructions of the chief minister who is cautious of the problems of the low income people , distract administrations are using Ramzan package to make ill-gotton money.
