Riyadh ; PEF inks MoU to attract investment for Pakistan

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) : The 7th Business Networking Meetup organized by the Pakistani Executive Forum (PEF) concluded successfully in Riyadh, bringing together prominent business leaders, investors, and representatives of Pakistani business organizations from across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.

The event was graced by Dr. Shagufta Zareen, Minister for Trade and Investment at the Embassy of Pakistan , who attended as the chief guest. Distinguished businessman Mian Munir Hans traveled from Dubai to participate in the gathering. The event also attracted CEOs of leading companies, members of the Pakistani business community, investors, and community leaders from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Dubai.

 

The centerpiece of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among several Pakistani business and investor forums operating in Saudi Arabia. Under the agreement, the Pakistani Executive Forum (PEF) , the Pakistan Investment Forum , and other Pakistani business organizations pledged to collaborate on a unified platform to promote investment in Pakistan, strengthen business cooperation, expand exports, create employment opportunities, and contribute to the country’s long-term economic development.

Participants hailed the agreement as a historic milestone for the overseas Pakistani business community, expressing confidence that the alliance would serve as a catalyst for greater economic cooperation and investment in Pakistan.

 

Addressing the gathering, Munir Ahmed Shad , Chairman of the Pakistani Executive Forum (PEF), highlighted the organization’s growing global presence, noting that PEF now has chapters in 20 countries. He said the forum’s mission is to connect Pakistani entrepreneurs and professionals worldwide through a strong international network that facilitates joint ventures, investment opportunities, job creation, and increased remittances to Pakistan.

In her keynote address, Dr. Shagufta Zareen conveyed a message from Pakistan’s Ambassador, emphasizing the importance of unity among Pakistani business and investor forums in Saudi Arabia. She stressed that collective efforts on a single platform would significantly contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth, investment climate, and financial stability. She expressed optimism that the newly signed MOU would produce lasting and positive outcomes for Pakistan.

Speaking at the event, Mian Munir Hans described overseas Pakistanis as one of the nation’s greatest strengths. He said that bringing business forums and investors together under one umbrella would unlock new opportunities for investment, employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth.

A memorable moment during the ceremony was the cultural tribute presented by Qazi Ishaq Memon , widely known in Saudi Arabia as Baba Riyadh. He honored PEF Chairman Munir Ahmed Shad with a traditional Ajrak (Sindhi shawl) in recognition of his leadership and contributions. The audience warmly appreciated the gesture as a symbol of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and national unity.

The event was professionally hosted by Shakeel Ahmed Kiani , who guided the proceedings throughout the evening.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields to distinguished guests and individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions. In their closing remarks, the organizers expressed gratitude to all participants, partners, and supporters, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening collaboration among overseas Pakistani business communities and advancing investment, trade, and economic development for Pakistan through the newly established alliance.
