ISLAMABAD: In a ceremonial event at Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed newly appointed ambassadors from six countries, who presented their Letters of Credence to him. The envoys represent the Kyrgyz Republic, State of Palestine, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Kenya, and the Republic of Turkiye.
The ambassadors included Avazbek Atakhanov (Kyrgyz Republic), Dr. Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid (State of Palestine), Choe Chang Man (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea), Alisher Tukhtaey (Uzbekistan), Lt Gen (Retd) Peter Mbogo Njiru (High Commissioner-designate of Kenya), and Irfan Neziroglu (Turkiye). Each envoy participated in individual meetings with President Zardari following the formal ceremony.
During the event, President Zardari congratulated the envoys on their appointments and expressed his optimism for their roles in enhancing bilateral relations between their respective countries and Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of fostering cooperation in trade, economy, and cultural exchanges.
As a mark of respect, the envoys were greeted with a guard of honor from a distinguished contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr. This ceremonial welcome underscored Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties and promoting collaborative efforts with the international community.
