Islamabad : Dec 26: The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) vice chairman , Shah Mahmood Qureshi , will remain detained for another 15 days as Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi issued his detention order for another two weeks on Tuesday when he was expected to get released from Adiala Jail.
A larger bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) had granted bail to Mr Qureshi and PTI founding chairman , Imran Khan. After long weekend , Shah Mahmood Qureshi was expected to get released from Adiala Jail on Tuesday . His release orders were also issued and hsi counsels and family members had arrived Adiala Jail to welcome PTI vice chairman’s release , but just a few hours before his expected release time in the evening on Tuesday , DC Rawalpindi issued the new detention order for 15;days detention of PTI vice chairman .
Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s detention under MPO 3 is a worse case of political victimisation of PTI leaders . Many other PTI leaders are facing the same situation . This kind of state victimisation of PTI leaders is a big question mark on credibility of higher judiciary as well as political system of Pakistan.
