ISLAMABAD; The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) did wonderful job by conductimg its first national medical and dental colleges admission test (MDCAT) 2020 on Novemner 30, 2020 in the best possible manner and in a very protected environmemt .
Accordimg.to PMC , 125000 aspiring candidates ,who had registered themselves with PMC ,participated in the entry test.
The whole process of the test was foolproof.and despite Corona pandemic, the candidates gave the test in an appreciable environmemt. The credit of comductimg MDCAT in a friendly environment without any complaimt of wrongding goes to PMC as well as the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) , which administrated the entry test across Pakistan.
This applaudable exercise will upgrade Pakistan’s crediblity at home and abroad.
For the last few years, MDCAT process had been a question mark due to rising number of complaints of serious nature like leakage of papers and use of unfair means in the examination halls. It seriously damaged credibility of the concerned departments and quality of medical education in Pakistan
Now with better system in place and having a foolproof momitoring mechanism, Pakistan made a big stride to ensure that no one takes disadvantage in case of MDCAT by using any unfair means within and outside the examination hall. It will also inspire the students to trust entry test procedure and have a fair play for competing to get entry in Pakistan’s medical and dental colleges in the future.
PMC decision of having a special MDCAT for those candidates who had COVID infection is also highly appreciable . Hopefully, PMC and NUMS will not only maintain this level for MDCAT for future, but also take every possible step to improve it to make this process more credible.
