PM Shahbaz vows to chase down culprits of Basham attack

Islamabad : March 27,2024: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir is determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism from the country.
During a high-level security meeting presided over by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Army Chief reiterated the determination of the armed forces to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.

He said that the nation has steadfastly fought the war against terrorism for the last two decades and foiled the nefarious intentions of Pakistan’s adversaries.
Noting the recent rise in terrorist incidents, he remarked that Pakistan’s enemies have once again underestimated the courage of the state and the people of Pakistan. The army chief said that we will fight terrorism till every terrorist who casts a bad light on Pakistan, its people and its guests is eliminated and we will spare no effort to ensure that
Every foreign citizen who has contributed to the prosperity of Pakistan should be safe in Pakistan, especially Chinese citizens, we will fight terrorism with all our strength till the end.

It should be noted that in the high-level security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister issued instructions to conduct a complete joint investigation on the issue of the attack on the Chinese convoy by utilizing all the resources of the state.

In a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s office, it is stated that the meeting was attended by the heads of security agencies including Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers, IGs and other relevant officials.

He said that the Pakistani government will investigate the incident at the highest level and punish the perpetrators and facilitators and will not allow such nefarious attempts to harm Pakistan-China friendship to succeed.

The Chinese ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to the embassy and his personal interest in investigating the incident and praised the Prime Minister’s commitment to Pakistan-China friendship.
