ISLAMABAD, October 16,2024: Chinese Premier Li Qiang departed after attending the 23rd Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
Premier Li was seen off at Nur Khan Airbase by Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal.
During the farewell, Minister Ahsan Iqbal expressed appreciation for the successful visit, highlighting the importance of the China-Pakistan relationship.
“We look forward to welcoming you back to Pakistan soon,” Iqbal said, adding that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) remains a landmark in the bilateral friendship, akin to the “Great Wall of China.”
Premier Li Qiang thanked Minister Iqbal for his role in advancing CPEC and praised his contributions to the success of the project.
“I will return to Pakistan,” Premier Li affirmed, reinforcing the enduring ties between the two nations. “Pakistan is China’s iron brother,” he stated.
The Chinese Premier also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan for their hospitality during his stay.
“I thank the people of Pakistan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the remarkable hospitality,” Premier Li said.
Premier Li’s visit and participation in the SCO Summit further strengthened the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly as the project enters its Phase 2, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.
