Rawalpindi: The court rejects the PTI founder’s and his wife’s acquittal arguments in the case of the alleged unlawful selling of state gifts.
Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and Bushra Bibi, his spouse, will be charged in the new Toshakhana case on November 18.
The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) special court announced the couple’s indictment date and dismissed the acquittal requests that the former prime minister and former first lady had submitted in the case.

On November 8, the suspect submitted a plea of acquittal, and the court reserved its decision.
The complaint concerns the purported unlawful sale of a jewelry set that Bushra received as a present from the Saudi crown prince during the period between 2018 and 2022, when her husband, Imran Khan, was prime minister.

It should not, however, be confused with the initial Toshakhana case, in which the couple was fined Rs1.57 billion, or Rs787 million each, and given a 14-year prison sentence in January.
In April, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the couple’s sentence in the original (old) Toshakhana case.
