ISLAMABAD : Feb 28,2023: The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has concluded hearing into the Punjab and Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) schedule for the general elections .
The apex court will announce verdict in the case at 11 AM tomorrow.
The apex court had constituted a 9-member bench for hearing the case.
The judges hearing the case today are CJP Bandial, Justice Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Mandokhail, and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.
Those who dissociated themselves from the hearing include Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Afridi, Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, and Justice Minallah.
After division in the bench , four judges and dissociate from the bench . However , the Chief Justice of Pakistan. ?CJP) reconstituted 5-member that continued with the hearing of the case.
The judges who dissociated themselves from the bench had questioned the decision of the top judge to take suo moto in the case on the proposal of two judges who are also part of the same bench .
The CJP ruled out the observations of the judges who opposed the suo moto notice in the case and decided to reconstitute the bench to hear the case .
The 5-member bench today heard the arguments of all the parties and after completion of the arguments announced to declare the judgement in the case at 11 AM tomorrow.
