Rawalpindi : March 24,2024: The Pakistan Army will help to improve the fitness of the national cricket team. In this regard, the 2-week training camp of the Pakistan Cricket Team will begin today at the Military Academy Kakool. The camp will be held from March 25 to April 8 in Kakul.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Mohsin Naqvi says that the selection committee has completed the consultation for the 2-week camp in Kakul, I hope this camp will be of great benefit. It should be remembered that even before this, the national cricket team of Pakistan has been a part of the training camps under the supervision of the army. During Misbah-ul-Haq’s tenure, Pakistan participated in a training camp with the army at Kakul Academy before the Test series against England. When Misbah-ul-Haq scored a century in the first Test, he celebrated by doing 10 push-ups, after which he also gave a military salute. Before the Pakistan cricket team’s visit to England in Abbottabad, the fitness of the players was brought up to international standards. A training camp was organized in which more than 30 players took part. Apart from Test team captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan, other players failed to achieve the set target. Shaan Masood and Fawad Alam were declared the fittest players of the camp. Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq had suggested a camp to improve the fitness of the players, the players were sent for rigorous training in a remote location where a military trainer supported them, in the camp the players were given other difficult targets including running, and the players did yoga daily. Exercises like running and push-ups were conducted, Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, despite being the senior players in the team, were leading the way in achieving goals.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has said that we have formed a new 7-member selection committee of PCB in which there will be no chairman. The new selection committee will consist of 7 members, all members will have the same. There will be options. The selection committee will have captain and head coach members, Abdul Razzaq, Wahab Riaz, Muhammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq are included in the selection committee.
